About Us
Roke (Krishnakali),
founder & director of Cardamom Affair and your guide, was
born & brought up in Kolkata, till she moved to U.S.A 13
years ago. She is an artist, photographer, performer & fluent
in 4 Indian languages. She has the heart of a poet and eyes
for dangerous beauty. She loves things old, red & black,
broken and raw. She identifies herself as a butch & lesbian.
When she is not busy organizing
explorations of India, she runs her business of Life Coaching
& Business Consulting. She is also a graphic designer and
a cook and takes interests in projects that need her to wear multiple
hats.
Her latest passion is making
India conscious of recycling, specially that of plastic.

(Rai), your charming hostess, is a dancer, dance teacher, choreographer,
DJ, healer, body worker, intuitive, world traveler & polyglot.
She challenges herself in being Roke's partner in love, work
and play. She loves the ocean, sunsets, books, geeks, Guardian
crossword puzzles & dressing up.
She
runs her own dance company in Oakland (www.tripthelightfantastic.org)
and is one of the top ranked same-sex womens' standard couples.
